Whitemud West Hockey Association – Sponsorship Program
Whitemud West Hockey Association (WWHA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping boys and girls, aged 4 to 15 years old, develop as good community citizens and hockey players.
WWHA is a member of the Edmonton Minor Hockey Association (E.M.H.A.) and is the largest independent minor hockey association in Edmonton. WWHA currently has over 1,100 children in its hockey program and strives to provide all the youth within the community the opportunity to play Canada’s national sport at an affordable cost, while maintaining the highest level of standards and developmental programs for its young players, parents and their families.
Hockey is increasingly becoming more expensive to play. This is due to rising ice, insurance and equipment costs. WWHA does everything possible to keep registration fees as low as possible for our hockey players. Part of our strategy for keeping costs down, thereby permitting as many children as possible to partake in organized minor hockey, is to increase our sponsorship levels. The objectives of our sponsorship program are to raise funds to mitigate and offset the ever increasing costs of allowing our youth to participate in team sports. Funds we raise from our sponsors will be used to partially offset the cost of team uniforms and equipment and to fund developmental programs such as: ‘Learn to Skate’; player development; goalie development; checking clinics; practice ice times; and coach training. We also use our sponsorship fees to fund our program for underprivileged families; in this program WWHA pays some or all of the registration fees for children whose families cannot afford to put their children in organized sports without financial assistance.
Each child from Initiation to Bantam benefits from these programs, the programs help them to grow as individuals by being involved with the organization. The programs are offered at no additional cost to our registered players.
WWHA’s goal is to make Canada’s national sport affordable and enjoyable to the entire community.

The remainder of this document describes the sponsorship program we offer to businesses and organizations that are interested in helping us continue being one of Edmonton’s finest minor sports associations and to helping our youth stay involved in community based sports. Category Sponsor
A category sponsor is our highest level of sponsorship. Category sponsors will be the ONLY sponsors for all WWHA teams within their specified category e.g. all of Novice. Category sponsors receive the following:
· All teams in the category will carry the sponsor’s crest at the top, back of their jerseys (above the numbers)
o Other locations for the sponsor’s crests are available at the sponsor’s request
· The sponsor name will become part of the official name for that category in all WWHA communications (e.g. sponsor name Novice Category), and part of each team’s name in that category (e.g. Novice sponsor name team name)
o The sponsor’s name as part of the category name will be prominent in all WWHA communication and signage:

· Self-content page on the WWHA website (a page dedicated to the sponsor with content on that page controlled by the sponsor)

As our highest level sponsors, WWHA will work closely with category sponsors to maximize the benefits and exposure they receive. The items listed above represent the minimum level of recognition WWHA will ensure category sponsors receive; WWHA will be open to discussions and suggestions for co-branding with category sponsors.
Category Sponsor prices
Category sponsorship is a 3 year term; costs for the entire 3 year period are listed below:
· Novice Category - $37,500
· Atom Category - $45,000
· Peewee Category - $40,000
· Bantam Category - $22,000
Tier 1 Teams Sponsor
A Tier 1 sponsorship covers all of Whitemud’s top teams in each category:
· 1 Novice team (EMHA tier 1)
· 2 Atom teams (EMHA tier 1)
· 1 Peewee team (EMHA Tier 2)
· 1 Bantam team (EMHA Tier 2)
WWHA Top teams in each category typically enter more tournaments, travel further and more often and are on the ice more often than our other teams. These teams offer a very high level of exposure for sponsors.
Tier 1 Teams sponsors will be the ONLY sponsors for the top level WWHA teams in each category. Tier 1 Teams sponsors receive the following:
· Teams will be branded as WWHA Sponsor name Category Sponsor-chosen nickname
· Team jerseys will carry the sponsor’s crest at the top, back (above numbers)
o Other locations for the sponsor’s crests are available at the sponsor’s request
· Team name including sponsor’s name and sponsor’s chosen nickname will be used in all WWHA and team communications:
o During evaluations
o At WWHA registration
o WWHA Website
o Team websites
o Tournament program
o Sponsor’s name included in all external tournament registrations
· WWHA website ad on main page
· Self-content page on the WWHA website (a page dedicated to the sponsor with content on that page controlled by the sponsor)
· The sponsor will be listed as a major sponsor on the WWHA website, in the WWHA tournament program and in all WWHA newsletters

Tier 1 Teams Sponsor price:
Tier 1 Teams sponsorship is a 3 year term; sponsorship price for the entire 3 year period is $25,000
Individual Team Sponsors
WWHA offers 4 levels of individual team sponsorships. Each level is described below.
Please note that Category and Tier 1 Teams sponsors take precedence, if a category sponsor is in place, no teams in that category will be available for individual team sponsorship.
Platinum
· You choose team (within limits of existing category or tier 1 teams sponsors)
· Term is for a 3 year period
· Sponsor crest at bottom (under numbers) of the back of the jersey
· Team name includes sponsor name
· Identified as platinum sponsor on website and in tournament program
· Free ad on WWHA website and one self-content page on the website plus your logo (with link to your website) on WWHA website main page

· $5,000 (for 3 years)
Gold
· WWHA assigns team to you
· Term is for a 2 year period
· Sponsor crest at bottom (under numbers) of the back of the jersey
· Identified as gold sponsor on website

All sponsors will receive a framed team picture every year they are a sponsor; multiple team sponsors will receive a framed picture of every team they sponsor. All team level sponsors will also receive a thank-you item from WWHA, suitable for display. All sponsors of gold level or higher will also receive a special thank-you item from WWHA, suitable for display. Additionally, all sponsors should be named on a special page in the tournament program each year (separate from tournament sponsors).
